Chalie’s Angel - Three women, the Angels, (originally Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett-Majors, and Jaclyn Smith) graduated from the police academy and were hired to work for the Charles Townsend Agency as private investigators. Their boss, Charlie (voiced by John Forsythe), is never seen full face — in some episodes he is shown from the rear only (where the viewer only sees the back of his head and his arms) — assigning cases to the Angels and his liaison, Bosley (played by David Doyle), via a speaker phone.

Charlie’s Angels is episodic in nature, as opposed to serial, thus each episode shows the Angels finding themselves in new situations in which they would go undercover to investigate. The undercover aspect of the show creates much of the plot interest and tension. In the early seasons of the show, the Angels, under their assumed identities, use a combination of sexual wiles and knowledge learned for the situation in which they are being placed, but by the third and fourth seasons, the writing has a tendency to stray from the sex appeal (see “As ‘Jiggle TV’”) and focus more on the case at hand.

Trials of Life

Trials of Life: The series took over three-and-a-half years to film, during which time Attenborough travelled almost a quarter of a million miles. The production team sought to further push the boundaries of natural history filmmaking, following on from the advances made in The Living Planet, and were provided with several new challenges.

The sequence of chimpanzees hunting colobus monkeys was only possible through the efforts of Hedwige and Christophe Boesch, who had spent five years studying the apes in the Ivory Coast forests of West Africa.

Meanwhile, a bivouac of army ants in Panama was able to be filmed internally with the aid of a medical endoscope. Furthermore, a new type of camera lens enabled tree ants to be filmed in enlarged close-up just in front of Attenborough — with both subjects in sharp focus. This gave the illusion that the insects were much larger than their actual size.

Filming critical moments in the life of a herd of elephants necessitated the expertise of Cynthia Moss, who had devoted 25 years to researching the animals in Kenya. She was able to advise the production team on the right moments to film specific events.

The camera team had only one chance to film a 60,000-strong flock of waders flying over David Attenborough’s head in Norfolk, and the RSPB was enlisted to predict their flightpath. By contrast, the Florida scrub jays couldn’t have been more co-operative: since the particular group being filmed had been studied closely and were used to humans, a bird could land on Attenborough’s hand right on cue.

The inside of a termite mound proved especially challenging for Attenborough: it was so cramped that he could only face in one direction. He therefore had to slowly crawl backwards out of shot when performing re-takes.

Behaviour seen for the first time included the sequence that was eventually selected to illustrate the series’ DVD cover: that of a killer whale pouncing on a colony of sea lions on a Patagonian beach and ‘playing’ with its young prey before consuming it. This meant some risks being taken by the cameramen, as they placed themselves in the water just feet away from the creatures in order to obtain close-ups of an attack run.

Little Mermaid - Season 3 (End)

The Little Mermaid is an animated Walt Disney Television Animation television series based on the 1989 Disney film of the same name. It features the adventures of Ariel as a mermaid prior to the events of the film. This series is the first Disney Television series to have spun-off from a major film. Some of the voice actors of the film reprise their roles in the series, among them Jodi Benson as Ariel, Samuel E. Wright as Sebastian and Kenneth Mars as King Triton.

The Little Mermaid premiered in the fall of 1992 with the animated prime time special called “A Whale of a Tale,” then moved to Saturday mornings. This series originally appeared on CBS, with an original run from 1992 to 1994. Currently, reruns are seen daily on Disney Channel in it’s early morning cartoon block. It is also seen on weekends during Toon Disney’s animation block.

Some of the episodes contain musical segments, featuring original songs written for the series. The opening theme to the show is a combination of the songs “Part of Your World”, “Under the Sea”, and “Kiss the Girl”. The overture for the stage musical of The Little Mermaid is similar to this.

Talespin: Gaining its first run between 1990 and 1991, TaleSpin takes some of the most well known characters from The Jungle Book and places them in a 1930’s pacific setting.

Baloo pilots a yellow amphibious cargo plane, but his laid back attitude to life causes his company, “Baloo’s Air Service”, to be taken over by Rebecca Cunningham following several missed loan repayments. Rebecca is a shrewd businesswoman and had been searching for a failing business to take over for some time. She sets to work immediately and starts by re-naming the company “Higher for Hire”. Baloo is distraught at having lost his beloved plane, “The Sea Duck”, but when Rebecca offers him a job as her pilot, he reluctantly accepts as it being the only way to continue flying his “baby”.

Rebecca quickly manages to turn a profit, but soon discovers that transporting cargo in and out of Cape Suzette is not as easy as it first sounds especially where the air pirates are concerned. Fortunately, Baloo’s ace flying skills nearly always help him to evade capture and the goods are always delivered.

The first season begins with Dr. Robert Bruce Banner already established as the Hulk and on the run,captured by the military after another attempt at ridding himself of the beast within goes awry. He eventually escapes, and falls into the hands of The Leader (voiced by Matt Frewer), but the intervention of mutated cave dwelling gamma creatures, Banner’s loyal friend Rick Jones, and the love of his life Betty Ross, is enough to liberate The Hulk and he becomes a fugitive again, with a more aggressive General Ross, Betty’s father, continuing his pursuit.

Traveling across the nation and beyond, even venturing into the coldest depths of Canada, Banner meets kindred spirits also battling similar problems, fights beings of pure energy, and must endure an alliance with the Gargoyle to provide the antidote to a viral epidemic that nearly takes Betty’s life and countless others. Not even his family is safe from the terror his hidden powers bring, as his best friend and cousin Jennifer Walters is critically injured by Doctor Doom, forcing Banner to give her a blood transfusion that transforms her into the She-Hulk.

Over the course of the season running sub-plots gradually unfold, centering mostly around several of the supporting cast, the season slowly covers the following:

Betty’s attempts to construct a Gamma Neutrient Bath that will separate Banner from the Hulk with the aid of Doc Samson.
The Leader’s fragile association with The Gargoyle slowly breaking down, shattering completely before eventually reforming before the finale.
The Leader succeeding in bringing to life obedient mutant Gamma Warriors.
General Ross’ tempered alliance with Agent Gabriel Jones of S.H.I.E.L.D., a ruthless covert operative whose orders were to destroy the creature completely upon capture.

These plot threads converge in the three-part season finale “Darkness and Light”, where Betty’s gamble pays off and the Hulk and Banner are separated. The Hulk emerges virtually mindless and unrestrained. Banner feels responsible and confronts the creature in an armored battle suit. The Leader finally gains the power of the Hulk, but the strength drives him mad, forcing him to abandon the power and restore it to the creature.

General Ross, betrayed by Agent Jones during the finale, breaks down. Though hospitalized and in critical condition, Ross interrupts Banner’s wedding ceremony and threatens to kill Banner, who suffers a cardiac arrest, the separation from the Hulk finally taking its toll. This leads Banner’s friends into concluding that he and the Hulk must be merged again, or both will perish.

Ross flees, but later returns in an attempt to sabotage the re-merge experiment. He is interrupted by Rick, whom he hurls into the vat containing Banner and the Hulk. The experiment malfunctions, and the vat erupts; from it emerges a gamma-powered, hulk-like Jones, who escapes into the night, as the grieving but healthy Banner transforms into the Grey Hulk.

Duck Tales starring characters from the is an American animated television series produced by The Walt Disney CompanyScrooge McDuck universe as largely created by Carl Barks. The series is notable for being the first Disney cartoon to be produced for syndication, and for paving the way for future Disney cartoons, such as Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers and TaleSpin. It also spawned a spinoff series – Darkwing Duck. A world broadcast premiere television movie (entitled “The Treasures of the Golden Suns”) first aired on September 18, 1987. Afterwards, it was later turned into a five-part pilot serial. The 100th and final episode aired on March 11, 1990. A feature-length movie was released in theatres on August 3, 199.

The Oblongs is an American animated television program aimed at teenagers and adults. It was created by Angus Oblong and produced by Jobsite Productions and Mohawk Productions, Inc. in association with Warner Bros. Television and is loosely based on a series of characters that Oblong introduced in a picture-book entitled Creepy Susie and 13 Other Tragic Tales for Troubled Children. The theme song for the show was composed and performed by They Might Be Giants.

The show focuses on the antics of a family who live in a poor valley community who, as a result of extreme pollution and radiation, all are severely disabled and deformed, either physically or mentally. The pollution is the direct result of the lavish lifestyle of a rich community known as “The Hills,” the residents of which continue to exploit and harm the valley residents with absolutely no regard for their safety or well being.
